There was once a young shepherd who very much wanted to get married. He knew three sisters who were all equally pretty, so he found it hard to choose between them. He could not decide which one to marry. Then he asked his mother for advice.
She said, "Invite all three over and put some cheese in front of them. Watch how they eat it." The young man did as his mother said. The first sister ate the cheese with the rind still on.
The second sister quickly cut off the rind, but she cut so fast that she left a lot of good cheese on the rind and threw it all away. The third sister carefully peeled off the rind and cut neither too much nor too little.
The shepherd told his mother what he had seen. She said, "Take the third one as your wife." He did, and they lived happily together.
